European domain names registrations show a slight slowdown

According to the latest report from the Council of European National Top-Level Domain Registries (CENTR), published: in August 2022, “New domain sales of European ccTLD increased between Q4 2021 and Q1 2022, but have however slowed since and are now returning to pre-pandemic levels.” The median growth was still slightly positive (2.0% from January to July 2022), but the median renewal ratio fell below the 6 month average to 83.6%. The highest growth for European ccTLD in the past 12 months was observed in Portugal (.pt), Iceland (.is), and Denmark (.dk). This relative slowdown could be partially attributed to an increase in prices: over the past 12 months, the median sale price of ccTLD increased by 10%, from 9.0 to 9.9 €.
