A new partnership was just established between Identity Digital, registry for about 300 TLDs, and Zenfolio, provider of online business solutions for photographers. The idea of the deal is to promote the use of several photography-related domain names, such as .gallery, .photography, .photos, or .studio, by offering free names to amateur or professional photographers using the Zenfolio platform to show, share and sell their images. “A photographer who chooses a .photography domain name makes an instant connection with prospective clients by showcasing who they are and what they do”, the two companies explained.
A growing number of registries are trying to provide value-added tools, intended to facilitate SEO, e-commerce and user engagement, in order to encourage the development of meaningful and distinctive community-oriented domain names.
